Considered to be one of the most important poets of his generation, former Iowa Poet Laureate Marvin Bell was also a gifted amateur musician who loved to discuss music and collaborate with composers on settings of his poetry.
These three songs were composed in honor of his 2009 artists residency at Hiram College.
Bell attended the premiere concert.
